Control Arm Bushing Replacement

 

What is the part that needs repair, and what does it do?

The control arms are parts that allow the suspension of your car to move while keeping in place the mechanisms that make the car go -- they connect to both. The bushings in the control arms allow the arms to pivot with the suspension.

 

How did this part get damaged or worn on my car?  What is wrong with it?

With age and exposure to the outside, control arm bushings slowly degrade.

 

What other problems can this issue cause?

When they degrade enough, the bushings don’t allow the control arms to pivot properly, resulting in a bumpier ride and worse handling.
