COMMON CAR PROBLEMS GUIDE

Strut Mount Replacement
What is the part that needs repair, and what does it do?
Strut mounts are rubber mounts that fix your suspension struts (shock absorbers and springs) in place, allowing them to absorb shock effectively.
How did this part get damaged or worn on my car? What is wrong with it?
Strut mounts tend to rust or wear down from stress, which causes the suspension to loosen from the body of the car.
What other problems can this issue cause?
A worn strut mount decreases control of the car, as the struts fail to fully absorb shock to your wheels on the road. The increased shock also accelerates wear-and-tear on many other parts of your car, meaning you’ll have to replace them sooner if you ignore the problem with your strut mounts. Worn strut mounts also tend to make for noisier cars.
